Anchor

Anchor refers to a term meaning fastening or securing.

For example, imagine an H-profile column. To connect it to the foundation, anchor bolts and an anchor plate are placed on the foundation surface, and the column is then mounted onto this plate.

Another example is during dam construction. To ensure stability, the sides of the dam are anchored into the mountain, meaning they are secured. This is done by drilling a hole from the dam's concrete towards the mountain until reaching a solid granite section. The drilled section is then filled with concrete, and this is where anchor rods are used.
